iPhone App Review: Top Rated Apps
December 2nd, 2009 by zclarkTop Rated Apps
Top Rated Apps is an app that lets you search through only the highest ranked applications in the app store. The creators of this app search through and select only the 4 and 5 star app so that you can avoid any of the lower rated app. This save you time and aggravation by limiting your search to only the apps that everyone else thought were awesome.
Top Rated Apps Pros:
Top Rated Apps categorizes the apps in the same categories that you would find in the app store witch makes it easier to find if you want to purchase the app later on. It allows you to see all apps that are ranked 4stars and 5stars. This is a useful app if you want to find, only the best of the best. Top Rated Apps lets you use the list on or offline. They have made this app very simple and easy to navigate. This app also allows the user to save apps in a favorites list so that you can review them as recall only the ones that you like the best.
Top Rated Apps Cons:
The app works great and updates regularly. I found no bugs in the program to report. The list was lacking icons that represented the categories. A little dressing up of the main page would do this app good. In the future Top Rated Apps would benefit by adding the ability to search the apps by “paid or free”. This would ad more variety to the app as well as make it more useful to the user.

I am not sure that I would use this app. It seems that buying an app that helps you buy an app is one step too many. I can browse through the apps in the app store and look at the star ratings by myself while saving the price of this app. The app works great but it simply is not value added to the everyday consumer.
Pros:
- Ability to categorize apps with 4 or 5 stars
- Simple to navigate
- Favorites list
Cons:
- Main page of app very plain
- No ability to search by paid or free apps
I give this app a 5/10 because, although the app works fine I just don’t see much practical use for it for the general consumer.
