This lets me turn my laptop into the lazy-man’s Apple TV. I can view a number of podcasts, pause, play, rewind, etc. from my couch.

Apple Remote for iPod Touch is one the most suprisingly useful applications I have ever used. My Mac mini is connected to my home theatre system. With Remote I can now control iTunes on the Mac mini. I have an Apple AirPort Express connected to a stereo in another room to which I can stream iTunes content.

I am having a problem connecting my iPhone to iTunes via wi-fi for the remote to connect. Are there any particular settings I need to have besides 1. Be on the same network 2.check look for iPhone remotes in preferences under devices. 3. open application.

If you have an AppleTV you *must* get this app!! It’s awesome! And you’ll never want to use the little ‘pack of gum’ remote again!

Remote is a wonder for those who use the iPod or iPhone around the house. With this app I can control my computers iTunes library from anywhere as long as I’m on the same network, so for me anywhere within wifi range. It has a beautiful interface, that in my opinion could be better, I mean it WAS made by Apple themselves. The functionality is spot on, however there is one feature I really wish could have been included in the app. It would be nice if you were playing something on your computer that you also had on your iPod, that if you had to leave the room, you could switch playback to your ipod and pickup from the same timestamp. This is a nice little gem and definitely worth the download time.

This app is so awesome that I’m amazed that Apple didn’t just include it as a standard feature of the iPhone/iPod Touch – after all, the app was developed by Apple, like blackfedora said.
If I had to rank all of my apps in terms of how much I use them compared to how much I paid for them, Remote would be right up there. This kind of functionality is what makes the iPhone/iPod Touch so great.
