iPhone App Review: SwatchMatch
April 21st, 2010 by ashleytrebHow it Works
- You can create an electronic swatch from an image taken with your iPhone, an image you found on the web, or from the iPhone photo library. Then match that swatch to another image.
- Match and coordinate colors that go together, and create palettes with various shades and tints. Save time and be happier about what you buy.
- Name the swatch with a description and a swatch type. Then save the swatch to your asset library.
- An intuitive user interface makes it easy to match and coordinate colors.
- Palettes, which are combinations of colors, help you find complementary or coordinating colors. Simply search the community for your swatch color to find palettes that also include it.
- A slider allows you to easily adjust color lightness or darkness.
What was Pleasing
The user interface was very clean and the animations were nice. The application ran well except for one little issue.
Problems
When I registered it froze. When I reopened it I signed up again and it told me my email was already in use.
Also due to the fact that the community of users is so extremely small (4 people) I dont find it to be very useful. The only time I could see the average person using this is to find paint colors for their home. It does not tell me if colors match therefor it wont really help a person match their “blouse to their pants”. Although in the design world it might be a hit.
Once the application has more users I do believe it will be a success.
Suggestions
- Add the RGB values
- Advertise your app. in order to make the community of users larger.
