iPhone App Review: DeBlock 1.0
February 24th, 2010 by ashleytrebUnique and Addicting
DeBlock by Lhunath has sucked me in! I normally mess with applications for a day or two and then write a review for it….not this one! I cant stop playing! I will stay up all night playing Tetris, Bejeweled etc. Games of this sort suck me in. I enjoyed playing this game! It was well written and has a gorgeous interface. DeBlock is a block destruction game. Neighboring blocks of the same color are linked. Tap them to blow them up. The levels end either when you clear the field or get stuck with only unlinked blocks. If you end up with over eight unlinked blocks and you loose. The object of the game is to get the highest score possible when finishing you levels. The more blocks you combine the higher the score. Often you will recieve “Special” blocks they have quirky effects. Some blow up the blocks around them, others morph from one color to another, some even sabotage neighboring blocks by freezing them, and making them indestructible. You can play the classic or timed version.
Features and Functionality
It functions wonderfully. I had no problems with any bugs and there was no crashing. It was super fun and entertaining. The interfaces runs quickly and is very nice to look at!
The game provides an online scoreboard where people can compete with other DeBlock players for the higher score.
What was Pleasing…
PLAYING….except it detracted me from getting productive things done. I think this game would be great for a road trip as long as your not driving!
Overall Rating
8 out of 10
It is fun but I’m sure I will get over it after a couple more days.
